Sizabantwana

Induna Adventures supporting the Sizabantwana project The Sizabantwana (Help the Children) Project aids children in the greater Hazyview area of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Their mission is to provide care for orphans, deserted children and children of terminally ill parents by training volunteers to provide in the basic needs of the children. These needs may be physical, emotional, intellectual, social or spiritual. The most basic needs that are met include food, clothing, housing and protection. The project also aims to establish a network of partners and to work in close partnership with other related organizations, while still operating as an independent community project. A strategy of investing in strategic individuals over the long term is preferred to short term training of large groups. Research is also conducted on case studies of the children as well as on training programs for volunteers. We at Induna Adventures are supporting the Siza Bantwana project with clothing, blankets, food, and any direct need that arise. We would like to encourage other organizations in Mpumalanga to get involved as well. Your support will make a very big difference in the lives of these children and ensure a brighter future for generations to come.
Sizabantwana Background

SizaBantwana (co-founded and managed by Induna Adventures) operates in the Bushbuckridge/Mariti area of Mpumalanga, caring for AIDS orphans and vulnerable children by addressing their immediate needs and the larger issues in the community to ensure that they have a bright and hopeful future. This area has a population of approximately 2 million people. Over 15% of the children in Mpumalanga are AIDS orphans, a number which may be under-reported because of the stigma associated with the disease. Children as young as a few weeks are left behind in a social-economic environment where the majority of people are struggling to survive themselves. Many of these children are living in child-headed households. The aim is to create a culture of hope for these children. SizaBantwana is empowering the AIDS orphans, their volunteer caregivers and informal foster parents to shape the future they dream of. Jurgens Lubbe

Jurgens is a multi-talented all-round sportsman who has competed at both provincial and national level. Qualified as a river guide and abseil instructor, he also specializes in teambuilding. He loves any sport, which provides adrenaline and adventure such as snowboarding and kite surfing. Through his leadership and friendliness he motivates and inspires people to achieve their personal goals. With his well-respected opinions and experience in marketing, Jurgens is well equipped for his role as director of Induna Adventures.
Jaco Lubbe Born and bred on their family farm, Jaco has always enjoyed, explored and experienced nature. It is his aim in life to make that experience available to others. This is evident in the excitement and contagious enthusiasm and life that he exerts in everything he does. Jaco is an adventure man at heart and has been extensively involved in adventure activities. He enjoys numerous activities. Jaco is a qualified biokinetiscist, as well as a guide in river rafting and abseiling.
I love running. I love running over mountains and scrambling through vegetation. I love my bike. I love maps. I love reading maps. I love making really cunning strategic decisions that work. I love the sound of water; and the feel of adrenalin pumping when I hear a lot of water grumbling over rapids. I love the freedom of adventure racing where life is reduced to its primary elements; eating, sleeping and progressing forward. There's a lot of love happening here. And this isn't that surprising... adventure is not just about sport, it's about passion. "Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul...."
