Induna Adventures supporting the Sizabantwana project The Sizabantwana (Help the Children) Project aids children in the greater Hazyview area of Mpumalanga, South Africa. Their mission is to provide care for orphans, deserted children and children of terminally ill parents by training volunteers to provide in the basic needs of the children. These needs may be physical, emotional, intellectual, social or spiritual. The most basic needs that are met include food, clothing, housing and protection. The project also aims to establish a network of partners and to work in close partnership with other related organizations, while still operating as an independent community project. A strategy of investing in strategic individuals over the long term is preferred to short term training of large groups. Research is also conducted on case studies of the children as well as on training programs for volunteers. We at Induna Adventures are supporting the Siza Bantwana project with clothing, blankets, food, and any direct need that arise. We would like to encourage other organizations in Mpumalanga to get involved as well. Your support will make a very big difference in the lives of these children and ensure a brighter future for generations to come.

Sizabantwana Background

SizaBantwana (co-founded and managed by Induna Adventures) operates in the Bushbuckridge/Mariti area of Mpumalanga, caring for AIDS orphans and vulnerable children by addressing their immediate needs and the larger issues in the community to ensure that they have a bright and hopeful future. This area has a population of approximately 2 million people. Over 15% of the children in Mpumalanga are AIDS orphans, a number which may be under-reported because of the stigma associated with the disease. Children as young as a few weeks are left behind in a social-economic environment where the majority of people are struggling to survive themselves. Many of these children are living in child-headed households. The aim is to create a culture of hope for these children. SizaBantwana is empowering the AIDS orphans, their volunteer caregivers and informal foster parents to shape the future they dream of. “Crazytown” Joins Induna Adventures

Induna Adventures had the privilege of hosting MPowerFM ’s teambuild on Saturday the 27th of June. Wow, what a crazy fun filled team! When they arrived, Induna literally exploded with energy, a great team spirit, enthusiasm and a passion to live the life Induna’s way!

The Activity

We had a Quad Team Development lined up for the afternoon, so we had to divide the group into four smaller more manageable groups.

The GPS Team Development consist of riding quad bikes to specific locations on our farm, once there teams had to complete team development challenges. The games we played were suppose to develop team structure, communication skills, effective execution and role play.

Without MPowerFM knowing, they have all the qualities that makes up a great team. Induna Adventures showed them in a practical way how to apply their qualities more efficiently and effectively as a team. Actually they didn’t need a teambuild they needed a well deserved break.

The Party

Louis and I got invited to their karaoke party at Casa do Sol. Little did we know what to expect. We came across the first delegate as we walked down the passage, he was dressed as a incredible character, and then we saw the rest…..

It’s amazing to encounter a dynamic team in a formal environment and once you encounter them 2 hours later, faces change… abba, maya the bee, mr incredible, tellytubbies, snake… and suddenly the truth gets reveal and then one can understand why you need cartoon characters to work for a radio station… The atmosphere they create as a team, their spirit is truly South African and I must say MpowerFM truly knows how to party. Thank you MpowerFM… Until we meet again… Live the Life!!
